About me (VictoriaB.) I am 21 years sober, 10 years married and 8 years a mom. I live in a small town in Texas with my equally wacky (27-year sober husband Bruce B.). We have a high-maintenance, all attention consuming son named Blake B. Let’s not forget an equally high-maintenance, all attention consuming Pomeranian named Bella B. Our life is super boring … oh, I mean serene. For fun, we take RV trips to other states.
I started posting here because I thought it would coordinate nicely with our company by the same name. It is important to note that I do this blog for fun and for free. It is an opportunity for me to share personal opinions, humor, and an occasional irreverent comment.
On a serious note, if you are visiting because you need help with alcoholism, addiction or mental health, please call us at 800-673-5950. This is our company phone and we offer for you or your loved one free and low-cost options for treatment. We know there is no single hospital program or treatment center that is right for everyone. It’s just not possible one size can’t fit all.

You might wonder how we can do this. The short answer is that there are many new laws and options under the Affordable Care Act. We have experience finding recovery choices that most people don’t know about, or have access to.
There are many factors that go into deciding which is the best recovery option or treatment facility for you or your loved one. Things like various addiction specializations, detoxification methods, location, the length of programs, aftercare, in-patient, out-patient, facilities, special needs, co-ed, age, gender, religious beliefs, cost, Insurance etc. That is precisely why we started 800 Recovery Hub to be the connection between you and the thousands of recovery home choices and offer placement assistance. One last thing ….we are not owned by a treatment center or hospital.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you subscribe to my blog. It is a labor of love and I appreciate all comments, likes, and shares. I also believe in the Social Media practice of “like for like”. So don’t be shy … if you have a blog, Facebook page, Twitter account, etc. let me know and I will check it out.
Hi Victoria, I hope you don’t mind, but I nominated you for the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award. I put the questions and instructions on this page:

Wonderful bio. My brother finally admitted to his problem as well and has been sober for 2 years and now is engaged to a awesome lady he met in AA. They are now engaged.

It’s great when two people meet in a group like AA and end up getting married. I have seen a several couples start dating and think “these two will never last a month”. I am surprised how often I am wrong …. 10 years laters and they will still be married 🙂 That goes for me too! I never dated anyone who was sober. I thought the idea of being with another alcoholic, sounded crazy. My husband and I have so much fun enjoying our sobriety. Sometimes, I love being wrong.

I was a little worried that they were both relapse. But I was ignorant on the matter, I’m sure it happens but I’ve heard more and more stories of 2 sobers mates staying sober. So if they meet in AA it’s actually very healthy. I think for people like me and others, we are still ignorant to the understanding of what alcoholism is. It’s a disease so we hope our family member can go to AA, get cured, leave and join the real world but just not drink in it. But that’s not how it works it’s actually a completely different lifestyle. So when we hear that they’re dating someone that they met in AA I think our first response is that they’re going to drink again.

Thanks Victoria for your response to My Daughter Monae. It means a lot, knowing a bit now about your commitment. I am coming to see our entire species as one of people in recovery learning to cooperatively and mutually mentor our other selves in recovery from commodified economic delusions, grasping to win what could not be accessible to all, aversions to recognizing that we are essentially coincidental, and not at all just a booming-buzzing chaotic coincidence.
Recovery as reweaving our shared basic human identity.

Wow! I have visited this site several times, and yet not looked at this page. I had no idea of the encompassing nature of your mission.
I’m so impressed! Your blog alone is helpful and informative, covering a miriad of issues, but your business is mind-blowing. I live in England, and have never encountered a service such as this.
Again – wow!

Very inspiring about page! It’s so good that more people are finally waking up to the fact that addiction recovery is not just limited to the traditional 12 step approach and realize the effectiveness & scientific value of alternative recovery. It certainly helped me change my beliefs about the people & world around me which minimized my urges & cravings, hence, a more balanced and healthy lifestyle. What you & your husband are doing is very inspirational to me. May sunshine always flood your path 🙂

I love your blog and your business. So many people need the resources that you have put together. Personally I believe that most of us that are addicted to one thing will become addicted to something else until we resolve the underlying reason for our addiction. The more that we all share our stories the greater the chance we can impact someone else’s life, at least that’s my goal!

Thanks for the visit. Many blessings. I have written a few books of poetic thoughts from my long recovery from anorexia. I don’t promote them much, but I thought to share in case someone could use a little hope to hold during the hard parts.
Much love. I also have an active 7 year-old and puppy. 🙂 I’ve been free from anorexia for 5 years. Nice to cross paths with you. — Laurie

It’s good that you and your husband are sober – thanks for letting us know. You don’t however mention whether Blake and Belle are sober too. I’m so worried about them that I fear I will not sleep tonight!
And yeah – totally joking – you have a great blog there – keep up the good work.

I especially appreciated you flattering remark …. as I am not having the best day. Once again, I allowed myself to get sucked into someone else’s “disease”. You would think after all this time, I would know better.

Yes, I am with you. I have let myself get involved in other people’s problems many a time. It is hard to stop ourselves from wanting to “fix” other people. I try to remind myself to let other people handle their own problems. Conscious effort! Every day is a new day. We got to get back to the drawing board every once in a while. Cheer up! Our future is beautiful. ; )

Wow! I am so proud of you. One day sober is such a big deal. Hang in there …. the first three days will be a bit of a challenge (if you drank a lot like me). If you were just using drugs without booze, then do as much resting as your can. Get some fresh air, hang out will emotionally healthy people and eat some sweets. I look forward to joining you on your journey.
